We Won! BBC Morning Live’s Community Food Champion Award 2024
Cegin Hedyn stands as a testament to the power of community. It shows what we can achieve when we come together, step into our collective power, and take responsibility for a food system that has failed both people and the planet.
A Week in Sicily: Lessons from The Good Kitchen in Mussomeli
I recently had the privilege of spending a week in Mussomeli, Sicily, as part of The Good Kitchen, a remarkable project led by the inspiring Chef Danny McGibbon. Danny and I were connected through the Chef’s Manifesto project, which champions sustainable food practices globally. Our shared passion for food and community building brought us together, and when he invited me to join him in Sicily, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to learn from his latest initiative.
Why I’m Supporting Cegin y Bobl’s Vision for a Sustainable Wales
Cegin y Bobl is championing the same values we hold dear at Cegin Hedyn—supporting local farmers, reducing waste, and teaching real-life skills to build food resilience across Wales. By raising £250,000, they can expand these vital programs, bringing the joy and sustainability of good food to more communities than ever. Every donation is a step toward a Wales where everyone can enjoy affordable, nourishing food while caring for our land.

St. David's Day | Mothering Sunday & New Opening Times Ahead!

Jerusalem Artichokes
These golden nuggets as I call them are a personal favourite of mine often make an appearance on our menu this time of year. One of my favourite recipes has to be when we bake them in a white sauce as a side dish for our Sunday Lunch.

First Year Thoughts
To this day, we have served over 3000 meals: 158 "Pay What You Can," 460 FREE, 600 Volunteer Meals, and 1950 "Suggested Price" meals.
In an ideal world, a project like Cegin Hedyn wouldn't be necessary – we'd all have unfettered access to the food we need. But we're not in that world. So, I am committed to having Cegin Hedyn fill that gap for as long as my community needs it.
E-Bikes | Cinnamon Buns | Pork Belly | Hawthorn
It was just last year that I embarked on a unique journey, venturing into the realm of eco-conscious transportation. I made the bold decision to invest in an e-cargo bike from Tern, with a clear intention in mind: to reduce my reliance on my trusty old car. I figured, why not give it a fair six-month trial period and see where it led me?
