St. David's Day | Mothering Sunday & New Opening Times Ahead!

As I sit down to write this, the buzz of another Sunday Lunch service lingers in the air. These days, Sundays are a beacon of bustling activity here at The Warren, a testament to the warmth and community we've built together, especially heartening in these uncertain times. With Mothering Sunday nearly upon us, our tables are almost spoken for, a humbling reminder of the support you've shown us.

As we edge closer to St. David's Day, I find myself drawn to the earthy promise of my garden, where the leeks I've tenderly nurtured are ready for harvest. There's also the whisper of adventure as I plan to foray into the nearby woodlands, in search of the first sprouts of wild garlic. This bounty from nature inspires our menu, so keep an eye out this Friday for our take on the traditional Lamb Cawl, accompanied by a Leek & Wild Garlic Rarebit that promises to be a celebration of Welsh flavours.

Reflecting on the past week, I'm filled with pride over the launch of our weekly dinner service at Cegin Hedyn. The evening was a tapestry of community spirit, led by Chef Saskia, FOH Manager Meleri and a dedicated team of volunteers. Their passion and expertise, especially Saskia's unmatched dhal, were a delightful challenge to my own culinary skills. See a sample menu here.

In the spirit of community and shared experiences, I've refreshed our "Upcoming Events" page. It's a collection of local happenings that weave together our shared interests – from the next LGBTQ+ Brunch to the enriching People, Planet & Pints Socials, the practical magic of the Repair Cafe, and the grounding Seedy Saturday.

And for those moments when the morning calls for a quiet corner, a comforting slice of cake, and a robust cup of Coaltown Coffee, remember we're extending our embrace from March 12th to include Brunch & Cake from 10am, throughout the week* – your new haven for morning gatherings with our upstairs private room available for any local groups or gatherings that would like that extra bit of privacy.

If this note has kindled a warmth in your heart, I humbly ask a favour. Consider signing up for our newsletter sharing a cherished memory of your time with us on Google Reviews. Your words fuel our passion and commitment to not just serve, but to enrich our community with the principles of the organic, seasonal, local movement with its accessibility to all here in Carmarthen.

Thank you for being part of our story.
