Jerusalem Artichokes

These golden nuggets as I call them are a personal favourite of mine often make an appearance on our menu this time of year. One of my favourite recipes has to be when we bake them in a white sauce as a side dish for our Sunday Lunch.

This year I’ve held some back from the kitchen to put them in my garden as I’ve been told they are incredibly easy to grow and have gorgeous flowers!

The ducks have been very helpful in sharing their used bedding for our compost heap which I’ll be using to feed my rhubarb plant in the hope for another bumper crop, so fingers crossed for a successful harvest later in the year!

Happy growing to all you green fingered followers out there & if you have any surplus fruits & veggies this year please send them my way so we can turn them into something yummy at our volunteer run “pay what you can” project Cegin Hedyn.

Big love, Deri x
