We Won! BBC Morning Live’s Community Food Champion Award 2024

I am overjoyed and deeply humbled to share that I, Deri Reed, have been named the BBC Morning Live Community Food Champion 2024 at this year’s BBC Food & Farming Awards!

These awards are among the most prestigious in the food world, celebrating the individuals and projects working tirelessly to create a better, more sustainable food system. To have my work recognised on this national stage is a moment of immense pride and validation. Being judged by the wonderful Matt Allwright, a man whose commitment to community and justice aligns so closely with our ethos, makes this recognition even more special.

I’m dedicating this award to every single volunteer who has shared their time, the businesses who share their skills, the growers who share their produce, and the supporters who have donated their money to bring this vision to life. Your dedication, generosity, and belief in this project have made Cegin Hedyn what it is today.
