Cooking with Dr Mz Youth Group

Yesterday, I had the honour of hosting a cooking workshop at The Dr. Mz Youth Group.

My goal was to engage the participants and encourage them to try something new—something quick, easy, achievable, healthy, and affordable. Given these criteria, it was clear to me that I had to teach them the Cegin Hedyn Dhal & Courgette Fritter recipe, especially since they had courgettes and onions growing in their garden.

Sharing my passion for cooking felt almost magical, especially when I saw them excitedly run off to tell their friends about the dish. I now understand how teaching can be so rewarding, especially when you realise that your work has the potential to make a real difference in someone's life. It's a wonderful way to keep the connection between food, the planet, and wellbeing alive.
