Final Thoughts of 2021
As the year of 2021 comes to an end I wanted to take this opportunity to share some thoughts with you.
Having just watched Leonardo Dicaprio's new film “Don’t look Up” it has reminded me of the situation that the world is in right now & I wanted to use some of the influence that I have to spread the word about this film. In a nutshell it’s about how as a society we are ignoring facts from our top scientists around the world & putting growth & profit over people & planet. I invite you to watch it with an open mind.
Back in 2016 The Warren was born from the community to support people & planet before profit which is exactly what we are continuing to do to this day. I am so grateful that my vision has been well received & supported by so many. From the onset we have been championing the suppliers we use to create the experience you receive here, without their skills, knowledge & passion The Warren would be a very different place.
Hospitality as an industry has had its fair share of challenges over the past few years & I’m grateful that we still have our doors open doing what we set out to do in the beginning which sadly is not the case for some of my fellow restaurateur friends who have closed their doors for good. Energy price hikes, stock supplies, delivery delays, staff recruitment, general mental health, staff isolation & food/drink prices are some of the main challenges we have faced in a very short period of time.
My passion lies in the belief I have around the organic & regenerative farming movement which is what I am focussing my energy on as a way to be the change I want to see.
Looking at The Warren’s Mirror of Fame today has reminded me of how well we have done & are doing in our field and what’s on the horizon for us.
I don’t think I can say enough times how grateful I am for the support in my vision of The Warren.
Happy new year, thank you for your support today & for reading this message.
